It's Sustainability Month at KCANZ - Earth Hour, Clean Up Australia and more...
March is a key month at KCANZ when we get involved with some of our sustainability partners. With Clean Up Australia Day on 6 March and Earth Hour (a WWF Australia innovation) happening all over the world on 26 March.
Earth Hour – 26 March 2011
Did you know Earth Hour started in Australia? Now with over 4000 cities in over 128 countries taking part, Earth Hour has grown into the world’s largest community driven campaign for the planet.
On March 26, hundreds of millions of global citizens will unite in the action of lights out.
Sign up and switch off for Earth Hour at 8:30pm Saturday 26 March – rally your friends and family and make it a night to remember. Switching off is a simple act, yet a hugely powerful one, making a statement that we care about the planet, while also sending a reminder to our leaders that we want action.
Vote now in the WWF Earth Hour Awards, sharing the positive actions being taken across Australia for a better, healthier world. Through the WWF Earth Hour Awards we will recognise and celebrate those who are leading by example and inspiring others to do the same.
Small Steps for Sustainability
Earth Hour is the perfect time to make simple, everyday changes to our lives to reduce our environmental footprint and ties in beautifully with the Kimberly-Clark ‘Small Steps Program’, an initiative of the K-C Global Sustainability team, celebrating the idea that small steps add up to big changes.
Here at Kimberly-Clark we encourage reducing printing, turning off lights, riding a bike instead of driving, turning computers off every night. We believe that as a group we can make a difference. We have set up an internal staff program so that our team members can simply register and help the global team to be one step closer to achieving their goal.
What can you do to make a difference?
Clean-Up Australia Day
Sunday 6 March was Clean Up Australia Day and our KCP team got involved with our corporate partners Clean Up Australia by volunteering to assist with the clean up in our local community plus we had a corporate Clean Up campaign at work. we hope to be able to share some of our personal stories about Clean up Australia Day soon.
